Israeli troops kill Palestinian

Israeli troops on Sunday shot dead three Palestinians, including a 91-year-old man and his grandson, in the town of Beit Hanoun, Gaza Strip, Palestinian medical officials said. "Ibrahim Abdullah Abu Saeed, a farm manager who was 91 years, and Ismael Abu Walid Audeh (20), was killed Sunday by Israeli tank fire," said Salima Abu Adham, a spokesman for the local medical services, told AFP.


Shortly afterwards, the old man's grandson, Hossam Khaled Abu Saeed, also died from injuries he sustained in the incident, which occurred near the Gaza-Israel border. An Israeli military spokesman confirmed the shooting.

Forces "opened fire on a group of terrorists preparing to fire the RPG (rocket propelled grenades)" to Israel, he told AFP, but he could not say how many suspects who attacked and did not give further detailed explanation.
According to the spokesman, the incident is the second in the border on Sunday. In the first incident, Israeli troops fired warning at a group of people who approached the border fence.

At least seven rockets or mortars hit Israel in this week, and on Friday, Israel launched a series of retaliatory air strikes, mainly aimed at smugglers tunnel, which injured two members of Hamas security forces.
