ChemBot Robots Soft as Ball

Washington, The U.S. military is currently developing a flexible robot, which can change shape in an instant. The form does not like robots in general, even just like a pile of melted rubber. But make no mistake, these robots have special abilities of the military mission. The robot, named ChemBot made by the iRobot company with a contract from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and the Army Research Office.


Preliminary design ChemBot recently exhibited click amazed and quite inviting.

This palm-sized robots will be a mobile robot that can menelusup anywhere with out her body, for example through a small hole at the rescue mission.

Chembot do have a special material so that in a process called 'jamming', the robot can turn into a semi-liquids and solids in an instant.

So when going into a hole smaller than its body, ChemBot can directly reduce the body to pass through easily, as if it melted. And after the past, ChmeBot can return to normal size.

Cnet reported, ChemBot made with silicone material. Technology in it enables the robot is to reduce and enlarge his body, changing the size and shape automatically.
